Screening & Recruitment Process - Prospective Staff Carers 

We are always looking for additional staff carers to join our award winning team. If you are interested in becoming a staff carer with Ladybirds & Dragonflies Childminding Service please send us a resume detailing your experience with children, and contact details of two child related references and one character reference.

Minimum requiremets to become a member of our team

  • Commission For Children & Young People - Blue Card
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Formal Qualification within childcare (or be prepared to undertake training)
  • Minimum 12 months paid childcare experience and/or be a parent yourself

After a successful reference check we will provide you with details on our upcoming inservice dates. It is a requirement before commencing employment with our organisation for you to attend an info session at our North Brisbane office to ensure you understand the policies and procedures that are required to be followed as an employee of Ladybirds & Dragonflies Childminding Service.

Prospective Families

You can feel confident when utilising Ladybirds & Dragonflies Childminding Service as your care provider due to the extensive screening process each of our staff carers must successfully complete prior to becoming a team member.

 

To become a staff carer an individual will need to provide:

 
  • A detailed resume outlining their experiences (minimum 12 months paid childcare experience) 
 
  • A minimum of two childcare related references and one character reference
 
  • Evidence of current positive notice BLUE CARD for child related employment and current first aid certification or be willing to obtain these prior to beginning work with our service.
  • Evidence of a recognised formal qualification within the childcare indsutry and/or be a parent themselves
 
 

During the interview process a prospective staff carer will need to satisfy the Director of the service that they:

 
  • Understand and will uphold the mission statement of the service
 
  • Understand and will adhere to the service policies and procedures
 
  • Are prepared to develop their skills further through additional training and workshops offered by the service
 

An applicants appearance, personality and communication skills will also be assessed during the interview stage to gain an overall view of the applicant. After an applicant has satisfied the Director of the above and has passed a successful reference check, only then will they be appointed as a staff carer with our service.
