Roles Available

Staff Carer: A staff carer is an individual employed by Ladybirds & Dragonflies Childminding Service to assist with any of the services listed on our website.


Parent Staff Carer: A parent staff carer is an individual employed by Ladybirds & Dragonflies Childminding Service that is also a parent themselves and would require the need to take their child along with them to the booking. Parent staff carers can also be utilised without their children in attendance (e.g if working a day their child is in daycare). 

 

Nanny Hire Staff Carer: A nanny hire staff carer is an individual employed by Ladybirds & Dragonflies Childminding Service to provide assistance to families in the primary role as a nanny either on a full time, permanent part time or part time basis. Your role will include supervision of the children as well as light housework duties as pre determined by the client. It is favourable if you hold a drivers license as many nannying roles will require you to transport the children on various outings.

  

To become a staff carer, parent carer or nanny hire carer you must: 

  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism
  • Demonstrate a genuine interest in the care of children
  • Understand and uphold the mission statement of the service at all times
  • Understand and adhere to the service policies and procedures
  • Have an understanding of how to handle various child related situations
  • Have a minimum of 12 months paid employment caring for children outside of your direct family environment
  • Hold a formal qualification within the childcare industry and/or have extensive parenting experience
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a positive notice BLUE CARD for child related employment & First Aid Certification
  • Be prepared to make a 12 month commitment to our organisation and undergo a 3 month probation period

 

Ladybirds & Dragonflies Childminding Service is committed to protecting children and young people from harm. We require all applicants who are to work with children and young people to undergo an extensive screening process prior to appointment. A process that includes but is not limited to, a detailed selection criteria, comprehensive reference checks, and identity check, a 'working with children check' and/or a 'national criminal history record' check, in addition to a  face-to-face interview.
